New Patient Experience
It starts with the first telephone call you make to the office. When you call to schedule your appointment, we will ask you questions so our first session together will go smoothly and we can customize our care to meet your particular needs. If you have dental insurance (assistance), we will fill out your insurance forms for you. You can enter your account information, medical history and e-mail address through our web site. Wouldn't it be nice to come in and have no paperwork to do at that first appointment? We can keep in touch with you by using your e-mail address when you cannot be reached by phone. We will ask you if you have any immediate dental discomfort or cosmetic concerns, so we can customize your first appointment to meet your needs. Click here for a map to our office.
Once you arrive, your patient concierge will greet you and escort you through your appointment. She will explain everything to you, answer all your questions during the appointment and be your personal contact afterwards. You'll have a relationship with your concierge, who knows your concerns. She is there to meet your needs. Your concierge will review your account information, applicable insurance, medical and dental history. Then you will have a personal interview with Dr. Sowell, when he will listen and learn about your personal needs and understand the level of dental health care you would like to have. Dr. Sowell likes to get to know all his patients as he feels it allows him to better care for you.
Next will be the examination, where we take your digital X-rays. The radiation exposure is equivelant to sitting in front of a television for two hours. Dr. Sowell will thoroughly examine your soft tissues, gums, teeth and TMJ. Models will be made and digital photos will be taken if the patient has cosmetic concerns, at no additional fee. Dr. Sowell will answer all your questions about the examination and your concierge will make your consultation appointment. Between your examination and consultation appointments, Dr. Sowell will study your X-rays and video, run tests and review your personal dental goals. From this information he will prepare a written report he believes will enable you to achieve your goals. At your consultation appointment, Dr. Sowell will review the oral health report with you, and together you will decide what options are best for you. There is no additional fee for the consultation. Our goal is to be your friend working toward your dental life plan and helping you develop your lifetime plan for dental health.
