A change for the better!
Linda’s children had finally left home and she could now focus on herself. She was ready for a change. Linda never had, or even ever wanted to wear braces, but she wanted a perfect smile. Dallas cosmetic dentist, Dr. Sowell’s answer to Linda’s problem was “instant braces”. With a combination of two ceramics fused to metal bridges and porcelain veneers, she is now ready to start the rest of her life!

From "Gummy" to Gorgeous
Jill came to Dr. Sowell’s cosmetic dentistry practice as a referral from another smile enhanced patient. She had nice teeth, but her upper gum dominated her smile. Jill wished to improve her "gummy" smile, yet did not want the more involved surgery. So, cosmetic dentist Dr. Sowell's solution to her problem was to raise her gums and teeth. In doing this, Jill's teeth would be positioned within the borders of her lips, giving her the smile she wanted. Dr. Sowell did a mock-up of Jill's mouth to give her an idea of the final product, and once the two agreed on a certain look, the process started. The gum lift was the first step, followed by custom designed temporaries of the upper front ten teeth. The temporaries were created to resemble the final veneers. Once the temporaries received Jill's approval, custom-made final veneers were produced. This process allowed Jill to "try on" her future smile makeover and to make desired changes before the final product was formed.

Out with the old, In with the new!
Cindy is an active, energetic interior decorator with an eye for color and fashion. Her knack for color came in handy when she realized her teeth were not only badly worn from clenching and grinding habits, but were discolored as well. Dallas cosmetic dentist, Dr. Sowell and Cindy decided a slight increase in tooth length; a natural, more rounded tooth shape and a simple whitening technique would give her the smile she desired. Cindy had also broken off one of her upper canines, which we replaced with an implant; this caused us to be just as concerned with strength and durability as we were with the overall beauty. In an effort to achieve the perfect look and stability, Dr. Sowell at his Plano dental office used bondable ceramic crowns on Cindy’s upper teeth, and the in-office “Zoom” teeth whitening method for her complete smile makeover. Cindy also wears a bite appliance at night to protect her teeth from clenching.

Dr. Sowell, cosmetic dentist to the Rescue!
Azita, a hairstylist, was excited to get her braces removed. But, during her post-braces examination, Dr. Sowell discovered one of Azita’s front teeth had died. The tooth had “external resorption”, a non-treatable condition in her case, and could not be saved. Dental implant specialist, Dr. Sowell came to the rescue and implemented a technique called an “immediate placement implant”. The tooth was removed and replaced by a temporary tooth, thus preserving the gum between the teeth. Oftentimes in cases involving conventional implant placement, the gum is damaged and results in dark holes between the two teeth. In Azita’s case, despite losing a tooth, her immediate dental implant placement technique worked beautifully giving her the same gorgeous smile as before.
