Have a Happy (and Quiet) Valentine's Night!

Flowers, candy, a night out on the town – all traditional goodies for the couple who celebrate their love on Valentine’s Day. Of course, flowers will wilt – candy will be eaten – and a night on the town will be remembered fondly – for awhile. The non-traditional will give IPODs, stuffed toys and cooking utensils (ouch!) to their significant other. Then again, here’s something different for Valentine’s Day – how about a good night’s sleep – forever! Do you roar (snore) like a lion at night, driving your lover from the bed and tempting
him/her to permanently relocate to another (soundproof) bedroom? Do you feel like you never get a good night’s sleep, even though you think you got 8 hours? Sleep apnea could be the culprit. The most common form of sleep apnea is obstructive in nature, where the soft tissue at the back of the throat collapses and causes a blockage of air and the annoying vibration of snoring, and waking you up constantly (see my article at http://adcplano.com/sleep-apnea-treatments.php). What to do? Well, you could buy a Continuous Positive Air Pressure (CPAP) device to force air into your lungs during the night. It’s 100% curative, but you have to like wearing a fighter jockey mask while you attempt to sleep. An alternative is an oral device, something like a football mouth guard, which may be much more comfortable. We can provide you a home test kit to see if you are suffering from sleep apnea and a free consultation on the potential benefits of an oral appliance that may resolve your (and your significant other’s) nighttime issues.

Call for an appointment and see if a simple oral appliance is your key to Valentine bliss this year!
